Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel have voiced their concerns about the new Formula 1 logo which was unveiled during the podium at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The old logo was in place for 23 years, however, as new owners Liberty Media have taken over the sport, they decided to mark this new era of F1 with a logo change.

F1 Commercial Cheif Sean Bratches explained that the old logo was unsuitable for new platforms in which Liberty Media hopes to expand and develop the sport.
Some of the drivers, however, have stated that they prefer the old logo.
“The problem is logos… I think the one that we already had was an iconic logo,” said Hamilton.
“Just imagine Ferrari changing their logo, or Mercedes changed their logo.
“I don’t think the new one is as iconic, but maybe it will grow on us.”
“I kind of like the old one,” his teammate Bottas added.
“What’s wrong with the old one? I don’t know. I think it’s quite cool.”

Vettel also stated that he “liked the old one better” on the podium at Yas Marina.
Explaining the change further, F1 Marketing Director Ellie Norman said: “We need to create an identity for Formula 1.
“The new design is inspiration from what we learned from the fans and the associations they want to have with the sport.
“It takes inspiration from the low-profile shape of the car, two cars crossing a finish line, and is incredibly bold and simple.
“Applying this in today’s market and being mobile and digital led, we have much more flexibility and versatility with this logo.”
